Neue T-Shirts: Trinitas & Hipstery

Größe auswählen, add to cart, bissle was von sich preisgeben, also z.B. welche Blumen man schön findet…

…oder mit was man hier d´accörchen geht…

…und schwupps legen die Hipstery Graphiker los. Shirt kostet 19,90 Dollar, Versand kein Plan.

Putting "Delighting Consumers with Hidden Surprises" to Work | The Awesome Blog (.net)

On the other hand, some surprises are motivated by the fact that it’s too easy to find exactly what you want. A German t-shirt website called Hipstery has made a name for itself by not showing any of their shirts on the site. Instead, buyers answer a series of questions about themselves and Hipstery sends them a shirt that they think will be most appealing. Surprise! The shirts often come from the out-of-print stashes of small suppliers, and yes, you can return any shirt you absolutely hate. (Way to ruin the fun, whiner.) The appeal (or “delight,” if you will) of the site comes from the fact that the endless reach of web shopping has largely eliminated the element of surprise from shopping. If you want an obscure item, search long enough on the web and you’ll probably find it. Don’t get us wrong: we prefer it that way. But Hipstery fills another type of emotional need that has been lost, and brings some fun back to a shopping experience that’s often defined solely by efficacy.

Shopping sorpresa ... - 100web2

Hipstery Outcasts | Gill McColl

Hipstery Outcasts

After seeing some info about The Hipstery on Twitter [@hipstery] and reading about their ‘Outcast’ experiment, I have to admit I was curious.

The initial idea of buying a tshirt that I have never seen and without even knowing what colour it is, seemed a bit mental, but I decided to give it a go. Not knowing what to expect, I was really pleased to receive a gorgeous brand new tee in the post a few days later.

hipsterytee

The Hipstery website basically asks you to complete a brief multiple choice survey to assess the type of ‘mystery’ tee you would like. Then based on your answers, they ship a brand new, shiny tshirt straight to your door. Not sure what complex mathematical algorithm, voodoo or form of psychic power they use to work it out, but they guarantee you will love your tee or you can return it to them if you don’t.

Hipstery don’t reveal all the brands they use, but quote a few names including, Teefury, Uneetee, Threadless, Teextile and Design By Humans.

As well as your tshirt, it comes in a spray-painted envelope with an assortment of weird and wonderful bits and pieces: old photos, postcard, 3D glasses and stickers.

After my initial reservations…………The Hipstery………..what’s not to love?

Count me in!
